Bio10-Kane - Advanced Small Insect Pest Defence
General Description
In modern agriculture, protecting crops from spider-mites poses a significant challenge, especially when employing organic methods. While traditional chemical pesticides can be effective, they carry considerable risks to the environment and to health, fuelling the demand for natural and eco-friendly alternatives. In response to this need, we developed Bio10-Kane, a specialised pest insect defence system. Our solution not only shields crops from small insect pests such as thrips and spider-mites, but also nourishes plants to enhance their natural defences. By combining sea-mineral-based compounds with finely micronised diatomaceous earth (DE) and a natural biopolymer, Bio10-Kane offers a robust, environmentally friendly alternative that tackles the difficulties of organic spider-mite control.
Research History:
Phase 1: Initial Concept and Feasibility Study
- Year: 2024
- Description: Initial studies explored the potential of combining sea minerals with micronised DE for targeted small insect pest protection. The biopolymer was incorporated into the formulation.
Phase 2: Laboratory Testing and Optimisation
- Year: 2024 - Current
- Description: Extensive laboratory tests were conducted to optimise the formulation, ensuring effective nutrient delivery and pest protection.
Phase 3: Prototype Development and Field Trials
- Year: 2024 - Current
- Description: Prototypes were developed and subjected to field trials to assess performance in various agricultural settings. Nano biopolymer was incorporated into the formulation.
Phase 4: Scaling and Commercialisation
- Year: 2023 - Current
- Description: Prototypes were developed and subjected to field trials to assess performance in various agricultural settings.
Current Update
As of mid-2024, Bio10-Kane has proven to be a groundbreaking solution for managing small insect pests, including thrips and spider- mites. Our advanced pest defence system has achieved notable successes and advancements, including:
- Effective Performance: Bio10-Kane has demonstrated significant efficacy in targeting small insect pests. The combination of sea-mineral-based compounds, finely micronised diatomaceous earth (DE), and a natural biopolymer has been validated through extensive application trials, proving its ability to protect crops.
- Enhanced Formulation: We have optimised the product’s formulation, improving the synergy between sea minerals, micronised DE, and the natural biopolymer. This refinement has enhanced the product’s protective barrier and targeted pest control capabilities.
- Successful Initial Deployments: Early adoption by farmers and greenhouse operators has confirmed Bio10-Kane’s ability to maintain healthy, pest-free plants and support sustainable agricultural practices.
What's Next
Looking ahead, we are focused on several strategic initiatives to further advance Bio10-Kane and extend its benefits:
- Expanded Field Trials: We are planning additional field trials in a variety of agricultural environments and with different crop types to further validate Bio10-Kane’s effectiveness and adaptability. This will include testing in diverse climatic conditions and soil types to ensure broad applicability.
- Development of New Application Methods: We are exploring innovative application methods to enhance the ease and efficiency of using Bio10-Kane. This may involve new delivery systems or application technologies to improve user experience and effectiveness.
- Ongoing R&D Efforts: development will focus on refining the formulation and application methods based on real-world feedback and emerging scientific discoveries. We are dedicated to maintaining our leadership in sustainable pest management technologies.
